Katherine's Journey at College Pro
Katherine started her College Pro experience in Montreal, Quebec while studying at McGill University. She managed the top-performing franchise in Quebec. She attributes her success today working as a General Partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures to College Pro. “Don’t underestimate just how much your College Pro experience will impact your future career path. I have certainly leveraged skills I learned that summer to get where I am today,” she shared.
Although Katherine had great success leading her franchise, it didn’t come easy. Katherine “worked her butt off” to lead herself (and her franchise) to success. She admits to only taking two days off the entire summer she ran her College Pro franchise and because of that commitment she was able to be the number one sales manager in Quebec and in the top 5% of all College Pro managers.
Helping Canadian Startups
Katherine moved on from College Pro and eventually became a General Partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures, a leading venture capital (VC) firm in Silicon Valley. Katherine focuses primarily on investments in web and mobile consumer and business services that leverage data analytics and new technology platforms. She has played a pivotal role opening doors for Canadian startups in the Valley including Shopify’s Tobias Lutke and Hootsuite’s Ryan Holmes and is known to be one of the few women to ever reach the level of a general partner at a Silicon Valley VC firm.
Hands On in the Startup Space
Aside from her role at Mohr Davidow Ventures, Katherine is helping rebuild Canada’s reputation as a tech innovator and is the Co-Chair of the C100, an organization in Silicon Valley formed by other Canadians to help link Canadian entrepreneurs with financiers in the United States. She also is an investor in Zuckerberg Media, Retention Science, FIGS, Reserve and Ritual.co, to name a few and sits on the board of Ruby Ribbon, BuildDirect, KEY Concierge and WorkFusion.
