The best leaders are those who lead by example - this is no different here at College Pro.
In order to be a good leader, it's essential to understand why you're doing what you do and help others identify the same values. Simon Sinek gave a viral Ted Talk on understanding the 'why' behind running a business.
As a College Pro entrepreneur, you can ask yourself the same three questions. Reflect on these answers in the framework of being an entrepreneur at large. Think about your motivations and goals around being self-employed, independent, and taking initiative.
“All the great inspiring leaders and organizations in the word … they all think, act, and communicate the exact same way. And it’s the complete opposite to everyone else.”
Sinek's golden circle is based on the premise that everyone knows what they do and most know how they do it. But what sets great leaders and organizations apart is knowing (and articulating) the why. At College Pro, why do you want to be an entrepreneur? What does it mean to you to lead a team? How will your work ethic be a model for your team? What can you teach others?
Understanding these whys will be paramount in two main ways. Personally, you'll be motivated for the right reasons. Finding a sense of purpose and reflecting on your intrinsic motivation will help keep you energized and driven. What's more is that understanding the why will also help you lead by example. Once your team sees you being passionate, excited, and goal-oriented, they will want to rally behind you. The end result is a group of motivated individuals with a common goal - a recipe for success!
